Men Charged In Westport Target Practice Incident Near Yard Waste Site

WESTPORT, Conn. – A 25-year-old Westport man and a 26-year-old from Virginia were arrested Tuesday after they were found in the woods behind the yard waste site on Bayberry Lane with an air rifle, police said.

Westport and state police responded to the yard waste site, 180 Bayberry Lane, after the site attendant reported seeing two men cross the fence and enter the woods near the Merritt Parkway, police said.

When officers arrived, they found Igor Pikayzen, of Indian Hill Road, and Henry Flory, of Nokesville, Va., about 100 feet away from the Merritt with a Crosman air rifle, police said.

Pikayzen and Flory told the officers they were using the air rifle for target practice, the police report said.

Each man was charged with third-degree criminal trespass, reckless endangerment and breach of peace, all misdemeanors. Each was held on $1,000 bond and released after posting payment. They are due at Norwalk Superior Court on July 19.
