WESTPORT, Conn. -- A man was killed in a construction accident off Compo Road North in Westport on Tuesday, police said.
Police, EMS and firefighters responded to the construction site at 12:21 p.m. on a report of an unresponsive male. Upon arrival, they determined that he was unresponsive as a result of a construction accident, police said.
First responders provided medical aid until EMS arrived and took him to Norwalk Hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries, police said.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Westport Police Detective Bureau, with the assistance of Fairfield police, Trumbull police, state police and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
The identity of the man was withheld pending notification of next of kin. Police said more information will be released as it becomes available.
