WESTPORT, Conn. The body of a 48-year-old Westport man was found in the wooded area along the Baldwin parking lot of Elm Street in Westport Monday morning, Capt. Sam Arciola said in a statement.
The man, identified Monday afternoon as James Barber, died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, Arciola said. A shot gun was found near the body, he said.
Barbers body was discovered at approximately 8:50 a.m., Arciola said. The body has been sent to the state medical examiners office for an autopsy. The Westport Police Detective Bureau is investigating the incident.
