WESTPORT, Conn. — A Middletown man was arrested after a police investigation into a report from an employee of a Westport business that her iPad and store merchandise had been stolen, police said.
The theft at Ring's End Lumber at 877 Post Road E. was reported to Westport police on April 17, police said.
Salvatore Pizzuto, 22, of Middletown was arrested Friday, June 26, and charged with fifth-degree larceny, sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy, according to police.
Store surveillance captured video of the crime and an investigation identified the suspect as Pizzuto stealing the iPad, police said.
A warrant for his arrest was signed by a judge at Norwalk Superior Court, police said.
Pizzuto was stopped for a traffic violation in West Hartford and turned over to Westport police. He was released on $1,500 bond pending a July 7 court date, according to police.
