Man Accused Of Selling Narcotics In Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. — A 28-year-old man with ties to Westport is facing multiple drug charges after he was arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 8, police said.

Jonathan Wiegand, whose last known address was the Gillespie Center homeless shelter on Jesup Road, is accused of selling marijuana and other controlled drugs in town, police say. His arrest was the result of a lengthy investigation by the department’s Detective Bureau, according to the police report.

Wiegand was arrested on Riverside Avenue and charged with sale of a controlled substance, sale of marijuana and illegal possession/sale near a school, all felonies. He was also charged with possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor.

He was held on a $20,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Norwalk Superior Court on Jan. 27.
