WESTPORT, Conn. A 21-year-old Bridgeport man was charged with 10 counts of third-degree burglary, a felony, when he was arrested Friday on warrants alleging he broke into several cars in Westport, police said.
Livelle Sampson is accused of stealing items from cars on Gault Avenue, Sherwood Drive, Pumpkin Hill Road and Westfair Avenue between June 5 and June 11, the police report said.
Sampson is believed to have been a member of a crew suspected of committing a string of burglaries in Darien, Trumbull and Westport, police said.
Joshua Rivera, Quamere Brantley and Nelson Rivera, the other suspected members of the crew, have been charged with numerous car burglaries in Darien, police said. Joshua and Nelson Rivera also have been charged with burglarizing a home in Trumbull, police said.
In addition to burglary, Sampson was charged with third-degree larceny, a felony; seven counts of sixth-degree larceny, a misdemeanor; and two counts of fourth-degree larceny, a misdemeanor. He was held on a $150,000 bond and is due in court Oct. 1.
The two warrants were served while Sampson was appearing at Norwalk Superior Court.
