NEW CANAAN, Conn. — A 56-year-old New Canaan man was arrested after he left three handwritten threatening notes at the Starbucks on Park Street, police said.

Glen K. Dunbar, of 186 Lakeview Ave., Apt. 4, was arrested at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday and charged with second-degree breach of peace, New Canaan police said.

Officers had been called to the Starbucks at about 10 a.m. Tuesday after an employee found the notes on the condiment station while cleaning, police said.

"The notes caused concern [among] employees," police said in a statement.

"The notes reference 'Seeking revenge on this town,' 'I hate 90% of you, I'll haunt/stalk all of you' and other types of concerning/threatening thoughts," police said.

Based on previous contact with Dunbar, police said they determined he was a suspect and interviewed in connection with the notes.

"Dunbar admitted to writing and leaving the notes," police said.

He was released on a promise to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Oct. 30.
