Lock Up: More Car Thefts Reported In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Fairfield police are warning residents to lock their cars overnight as more vehicles were reported stolen or rummaged through Saturday into Sunday.

A 2011 Audi Q5 valued at $22,000 was stolen from a Green Knolls Lane driveway sometime after 2 a.m. Oct. 29, police said.

Two other neighbors’ cars were rummaged through around the same time.

A 2007 Toyota Prius was stolen from a Montauk Street residence, police said.

The car, which was unlocked with the keys inside, was last seen at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Another Prius on the same street was rummaged through, police said.

These are in addition to the three vehicles reported stolen in the Old Field Road area Friday into Saturday.

One of those cars was involved in a police pursuit around 4 a.m. Saturday and was later ditched in Bridgeport, police said.
