The arrest warrant for Pablo Antonetty, 43, stemmed from a complaint from First County Bank on June 10, 2014, that forged checks had been cashed at the bank, Westport police said.
Antonetty had cashed a check at the bank that was later determined to be counterfeit, police said.
On July 19, Westport officers went to the Wethersfield Police Department and took custody of Antonetty in connection with the arrest warrant, police said.
Antonetty was charged with fifth-degree larceny and first-degree forgery, Westport police said. He was identified as one suspect in the check-cashing scheme, which involved several checks, police said.
He was unable post $35,000 bond. His court date is July 29, police said.
