Four Fairfield Teachers Injured After Student, 10, Throws Chairs, Tables

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Four teachers suffered minor injuries when a 10-year-old student began throwing chairs and tables in a Dwight Elementary School classroom Wednesday afternoon, Fairfield police said.

School officials requested police assistance with a student who was experiencing behavioral issues at about 1 p.m., police said.

Upon arrival, school safety officers learned four teachers had minor injuries, police said. One teacher was transported to a private physician before officers arrived, and a second with a bruise on the leg was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport for reatment, police said.

Two other injured teachers declined medical attention. No students were injured during the incident, police said.

The 10-year-old child was released to his parents at the scene, police said.
