Former Employee Charged With Stealing Beer From Westport Stop & Shop

WESTPORT, CONN. -- A 30-year-old Bridgeport man is facing a larceny charge after Westport police said the former Westport Stop & Shop employee took four 12-packs of beer without paying.

Rolando Morales was arrested Monday on a sixth-degree larceny arrest warrant for the April 21 incident, police said. He was released on bond and due back in court June 16, police said.

Police were called to the Westport Stop & Shop on April 21 on a report of a man taking beer then fleeing in his car, police said. Store surveillance video appears to have captured the incident, police said.
