WESTPORT, Conn. -- One of three suspicious persons in a Westport CVS early Tuesday morning turned out to be a fugitive from justice and suspected armed robber wanted in Florida, police said.
Police were called to CVS Pharmacy on the Post Road at 2:19 a.m. on a report that a man was trying to buy multiple gift cards, but his credit card was being declined, police said. He was accompanied by two other men. The men left the store and were driving out of the parking lot when police arrived on the scene and stopped them.
A passenger in the car was identified as Brandon Anton Dacres, 28, of Weston, Florida, who had an active extraditable warrant for his arrest in Broward County, Florida, for the charge of robbery with a firearm, police said.
He was held on $250,000 bond as a fugitive from justice and is expected to be arraigned in Norwalk Superior Court.
