The Westport officers stopped a vehicle on Long Lots Road for an equipment violation, when the police suspected there were narcotics in the vehicle. After a search began, the Westport Police Service Dog "Chase" indicated they were drugs in the vehicle, including paraphernalia, empty heroin folds and a packet of heroin, reported police.
Ebel was arrested and released on a Promise to Appear in Court by the bail commissioner, with a court date on Aug. 31.
