WESTPORT, Conn. — A 27-year-old Fairfield woman was arrested in Westport last week and charged with drunken driving after she crashed the vehicle she was driving, police said.
As officers were responding to a report of a one-car crash on Thursday, Dec. 19,, they were informed that the driver — later identified as Katherine Allen — was fleeing the accident scene in another vehicle, according to the police report.
Officers later stopped the vehicle Allen was a passenger in, police said. Smelling of alcohol, she was asked to perform roadside sobriety tests, which she failed, the police report said.
In addition to driving under the influence of alcohol, Allen was charged with evading responsibility and failure to drive right. She was released on a promise to appear in court on Thursday, Dec. 26.
