Connor O’Sullivan, 19, of Burr Street, was charged with second-degree assault and breach of peace at 2:15 a.m. outside Anna Liffey’s on the Post Road, police said.

A police officer called to a fight in progress reported that he saw O’Sullivan repeatedly kick the victim, who was bleeding profusely from the nose and mouth, police said. He grabbed the suspect and restrained him in his police cruiser, according to the report.

The victim, a 22-year-old Glastonbury man, told police he was leaving the bar when he was pushed to the ground and attacked. O’Sullivan said he was walking down the street and was jumped by three people for no reason, police said.

Several people witnessed the incident, police said. It was unclear whether both men were coming from the bar, police said.

O’Sullivan was released on $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 17, police said.

The victim refused transport to the hospital, police said.
