Fairfield Man Charged With Punching Woman On Westport Street

WESTPORT, Conn. -- A Fairfield man was charged with third-degree assault after he was accused of punching a woman in the face on Clapboard Hill Road in Westport, police said.

According to Westport police, two witnesses saw Thomas Moffett, 45, punch the unidentified woman in the face and knock her to the ground at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 26. The woman suffered minor injuries, police said.

Moffett was able to post $5,000 bond and was due in court on May 27, police said.
