WESTPORT, Conn. – A Fairfield man was arrested and charged after jumping onto a car he was following and breaking the windshield in Westport on Friday night, police said.
Jose Correa, 24, was charged with breach of peace and second-degree criminal mischief, police said. Correa followed a car on the Merritt Parkway, continuing when the vehicle got off at Exit 41, and then attacked after the car stopped at a light on Wilton Road, police said.
After Correa fled, the driver and male passenger found two officers near 176 Post Road West at about 9 p.m. and asked for help, police said. The officers called Correa's cellphone, and he met them on Post Road West, where he was arrested, police said.
Correa was held on $2,500 bond and was to be in Norwalk Superior Court on Monday.
