An officer stopped the trio around 4:22 a.m. near Fairfield Woods Road and Melville Avenue. They told the officer they were from Bridgeport and were lost and trying to get home, police said.

When asked why one was carrying a laptop in the rain, the young man said he liked to have internet access, police said.

The three were separated, read their rights, questioned and searched, police said.

A 17-year-old juvenile had two pair of Apple earbuds, a quarter-ounce of marijuana, a gold necklace with a diamond-studded pendant, an iPod, a car coin tray and $16.33 in coins, police said.

The third person, Demethre Neil, 18, of Ezra Street, said some credit cards he had that did not bear his name were given to him by a relative, police said. He said he was with Rowe and the juvenile, but did not break into any cars.

Rowe was charged with eight counts each of third-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, fifth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny and seven counts each of sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny, police said.
