Ex-Westport Housekeeper Charged With Stealing From Employer

WESTPORT, Conn. – A 20-year-old Norwalk woman who worked as a Westport housekeeper turned herself in to police last week on a warrant charging her with stealing from her employer, police said.

After hiring Robyn Barrett-Aguiar last October, the homeowner noticed several items had gone missing, police said.

After realizing the items were stolen and not misplaced, the homeowner questioned Barrett-Aguiar and she confessed to taking the items, the police report said.

The value of the stolen items totaled more than $19,000, according to the report. An arrest warrant was applied for and granted, and Barrett-Aguiar turned herself in last Thursday.

She was charged with second-degree larceny, a felony, and was released after posting $2,500 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court March 25.
