Derby Woman Charged With Stealing Money From Her Westport Employer

WESTPORT, Conn. -- A 31-year-old Derby woman turned herself in to the Westport Police Department on Thursday, July 30, on charges of stealing money from her Westport employer, police said.

Karla Malerba surrendered to authorities after learning of an arrest warrant stemming from a larceny complaint from her employer dating to January. The local business said that Malerba stole company money over a period of time, police said.

Westport Police charged her with third-degree larceny. Malerba posted $5,000 bond and is due back in court on Aug. 10.
