Shigemune Mori, 32, fell into the Sound when the inflatable boat he was on tipped over. Police told the Connecticut Post there is little hope that Mori, who was not wearing a life jacket, would be found alive.

The Coast Guard called off the search after crews searched for nearly 24 hours in the waters south of Bridgeport, the Connecticut Post reported. Another man with Mori was able to swim to shore, officials said. A Coast Guard spokesman said the 14-foot raft capsized when one of the men jumped out of the boat trying to find a lost oar, added the Connecticut Post.
