WESTPORT, Conn. — A brush fire was reported Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of Compo Road South and Elaine Road in Westport.
Mitch Gross, a spokesman for Eversource, said 32 customers were without power in the area just before 3 p.m. He said power crews were on the scene making repairs. (As of 9:30 p.m., more than 135 customers were without power in Westport.)
The intersection is between I-95 and the railroad tracks that carry Metro-North trains.
It was unclear whether the power outage -- or the reported fire -- was disrupting train service. As of 3:25 p.m., MTA was reporting “good service” on the Metro-North line in the area.
