Bridgeport Woman Faces Drunken Driving Charges In Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. — A 51-year-old Bridgeport woman was arrested on drunken-driving charges after veering of the double yellow lines several times, Westport police said.

An officer on patrol on the Post Road East at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, June 28, saw the car crossing the double yellow lines on several occasions, police said.

After initiating a motor vehicle stop, the officer learned that the driver, Alice Ross of Bridgeport, had an alcoholic beverage to drink before operating the vehicle, police said.

Ross failed the field sobriety test and was placed under arrest on a charge of operating under the influence of alcohol. She posted $500 bond and was issued a court date of July 10.
