Police told the Connecticut Post that it is common for teens to shoot at buildings or property around Halloween, but that this year they have been shooting at people, leading to pain and some injuries. The attacks have also begun earlier this year than in previous years, the Connecticut Post reported.

Earlier this month police arrested a teen in connection with a drive-by paintball shooting that left a 41-year-old man blind in one eye. At that point, up to eight people had been hit by paintballs in multiple attacks.

Police have grown concerned that teens are now shooting people with frozen paintballs, which can inflict more pain and possibly cause serious injury, according to the Connecticut Post. They are advising residents that they are aware of such attacks and are proactively trying to combat these incidents, the Connecticut Post reported. Anyone arrested in a paintball attack could potentially face charges such as first-degree assault, breach of peace or disorderly conduct.
