WESTPORT, Conn. — A Bridgeport man was charged with sixth-degree larceny after police said he left the Post Road East Stop & Shop with $200 in meat and steak without paying in July.
Officers were sent to the store at 10 a.m. July 29 to investigate, police said. Using store security, a description of the vehicle and help from Fairfield Police Department, police identified Jose Rivera, 31, of Park Terrace, as a suspect, police said.
He was processed for an active warrant while at court on an unrelated charge on Aug. 31, police said. He was held on $25,000 bond and turned over to the court marshal.
