Bridgeport Man Charged With Raping, Assaulting, Robbing College Student

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A Bridgeport man was charged with beating and raping a 22-year-old college student after she got off a bus in February, according to the Connecticut Post.

Tysaaun Anderson, 22, hit the woman over the head, dragged her to a driveway, and then proceeded to beat and rape her, police told the Post. He is also accused of taking her money and cellphone before running off, the Connecticut post reported. She required surgery to repair a fractured eye socket, according to the Connecticut Post.

Police identified Anderson as a suspect from DNA and surveillance video, the Connecticut Post reported. Anderson pleaded not guilty to multiple charges in court Tuesday, according to the Connecticut Post.

In 2016, Anderson pleaded guilty to reduced charges of second-degree robbery and interfering with police in a 2012 fatal shooting of a high school student in Bridgeport and served nine months in prison, according to the Connecticut Post.
