Bank Robbery In Greenwich Holds Up New Haven Line Trains

Update 6:30 p.m.: GREENWICH, Conn. -- Metro-North trains were running Wednesday evening but with residual delays of up to an hour after police activity near the Greenwich train station, Metro-North said. 

A search for a suspect in a bank robbery that occurred near the train station reportedly came up empty, officials said. 

Original story: GREENWICH, Conn. -- Greenwich Police have been searching late Wednesday afternoon near the Greenwich train station for suspects in a nearby bank robbery, according to Metro-North officials.

Metro-North train service on the New Haven Line has been delayed up to 60 minutes, according to the railroad website. Trains were halted while police combed the area but service has been restored, Metro-North officials said.
