Thieves broke the front glass at Milk Plus on the Post Road to get in and steal the store’s ATM shortly before 5:30 a.m. on Aug. 21, police said.

A little more than an hour later, a worker at Bennett Service Station reported a window broken at the Commerce Drive business, police said. Would-be thieves had damaged the ATM inside, but did not steal it.

On Aug. 19, thieves broke the door at Rawley’s Drive-In on the Post Road, but they left the ATM, which the owner had left ajar to show it did not contain any money, police said.

Fairfield police said similar incidents had happened in Westport and Shelton.
