4-Car Merritt Parkway Crash Sends Two To Hospital

WESTPORT, Conn. – Two drivers were sent to the hospital Friday morning following a four-car crash on the Merritt Parkway in Westport, fire officials reported.

The accident happened shortly after 7 a.m. between exits 42 and 41 southbound, Westport Deputy Fire Chief Robert Kepchar said in a news release. Three of the drivers were treated by firefighters and Westport EMS. Two drivers later were taken to Norwalk Hospital for more treatment, Kepchar said.

Fluids spilled in the accident were cleaned up by firefighters and the cars were towed from the scene. The accident was fully cleared about an hour later, Kepchar said.
