3 People, 2 Pets Escape Fire Unharmed In Weston Home

WESTON, Conn. — A crew from the Fairfield Fire Department joined 28 Weston volunteer firefighters in battling a house fire Saturday afternoon on Saw Mill Road, according to a Facebook post.

The Weston Volunteer Fire Department found heavy fire and smoke coming from the rear of the home when they arrived at about 1 p.m. 

Saw Mill Road is shared with the town of Fairfield, and the Fairfield Fire Department responded after receiving 911 calls as well. 

A joint effort between both departments quickly brought the fire under control, the Facbeook post said. 

Three occupants and two pets escaped the blaze unharmed. 

The Weston Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze.
