27-Year-Old Found Dead On Metro-North Tracks In Rye ID'd

RYE, N.Y. -- The 27-year-old man found dead along the Metro-North railroad tracks at 7:23 a.m. Friday was identified Saturday as William Joseph of Far Rockaway in Queens, the Westchester County Medical Examiner told lohud.com.

His body was spotted by a southbound Metro-North crew near Locust Avenue, just south of the Rye Railroad Station.

The county M.E. told lohud that Joseph was dead before the crew spotted him. Exactly how he died has not been determined, but he suffered multiple bodily injuries including fractures, cuts of internal organs and hemorrhaging, the medical examiner told LoHud.

A second man was seriously hurt at 4:25 p.m. Friday near the Purdys Train Station after he was struck by a southbound Metro-North train. He was conscious and transported by helicopter to Westchester County Medical Center, according to MTA spokesman Salvatore Arena.

MTA had no additional information to release on the injured man on Saturday, Arena said. 

The man, reported to be in his mid 20s, suffered serious injuries to his chest as well as leg injuries, according to lohud.com.
