Letter: Westport's Boucher Praised For Perfect Grade On Environment

To the editor:

Connecticut’s natural resources are, unarguably, among our state’s greatest assets. This is a truth of which I’m frequently reminded on occasions when visitors come for the first time. “What a beautiful state,” “It’s so green,” “you’re lucky to live here,” are among the usual comments.

In view of that, I was pleased to read in your newspaper recently that the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters gave our state Sen. Toni Boucher a perfect grade of 100 percent for the third consecutive year. Sen. Boucher has been recognized by the league for a number of legislative initiatives, including her efforts to promote land preservation, reduce air pollution, and improve state-wide water planning.

While our state may still face a number of challenges, it’s good to know that we have a conscientious watchdog like Sen. Boucher to preserve one of our strongest assets, our environment.

Congratulations and thank you, Sen. Boucher.

Sincerely,

Lorraine Taliani

Sen. Toni Boucher, R-Wilton, represents Bethel, New Canaan, Redding, Ridgefield, Weston, Westport and Wilton in the General Assembly.
