Letter: Re-Elect Jonathan Steinberg In Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. – The Westport Daily Voice accepts signed, original letters to the editor. Send letters to Westport@dailyvoice.com.

Dear Editor:

As Westport’s state representative, Jonathan Steinberg has been both visible and active, attending many Town Board and commission meetings and holding town-hall sessions on legislative issues. At the state level, he is on the Transportation and Aging Committees, both of which are vital for Westport’s interests.

When I endorsed him two years ago, I said he was not an ideologue. I was right. As a member of the Moderates Caucus, he has allied himself with Connecticut’s civil mainstream, where he is a voice for reason and responsibility.

Jonathan's first two years in the General Assembly have been marked by the same energy he showed in his seven years on the Representative Town Meeting, where I served with him. He was never a seat-warmer. From the get-go, Jonathan was thoughtfully involved in every RTM assignment he was given. Consecutively — and successfully — he chaired the Information Technology, Library, and Health & Human Services Committees, besides serving three years as my deputy moderator.

Jonathan Steinberg deserves our continued support. Come join me and vote for him on Nov. 6.
