FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Zita Bogdany Szabo of Fairfield died May 10. She was 74.
Szabo was born in Norwalk and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy of Stamford. She worked at Boots Aircraft in Norwalk. She attended Butler Business School to prepare herself for a return to the workforce. She held several office positions: Aqua Lawn, St. Pius X Church, BMW of Westport, and cooked for the priests and guests of St. Pius X Rectory.
Szabo is survived by her son, Zoltan J. Szabo (Kimberly) of Trumbull; daughter, Zita Ruf (Marty) of Trinity, Fla.; and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Zoltan Szabo; grandmother, Anne Kertesz; parents, Marion and Stephen Bogdany of Norwalk; and sister, Marian "Mumsie" Kilbride of Wilton.
Calling hours are Wednesday, May 14 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Lesko Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 15 at 10 a.m. directly at St. Emery's Roman Catholic Church, 838 Kings Hwy E., Fairfield. Interment to follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery, 1530 Bronson Road, Fairfield.
