Westport Mourns Death Of Katie Chase, Active With Historical Society

WESTPORT, Conn. — Westport First Selectman Jim Marpe announced the death Sunday evening of Katie Chase, who has long been active in the Westport community.

"Katie made a remarkable contribution to the Westport community through her participation and leadership in a wide variety of activities, including the Westport Historical Society, the Young Woman’s League, the PTA, the Westport Schools Permanent Art Collection, and Greens Farms Congregational Church," Marpe said.  

"She pursued every position with enthusiasm and professionalism. I was honored to be part of the celebration of Katie’s many contributions at the Historical Society last week. It was clear that she played a unique and cherished role in our town that will be long remembered."

She is survived by her husband, Bill.
