Susan Lynne Wolf, 68, Editor, The Redding Pilot

BETHEL, Conn. - Susan Lynne Wolf of Bethel died Friday, March 28. She was 68.

Wolf was born May 8, 1945, in Childress, Texas, she was the daughter of Lillian Schoenstein McCoskey of Madison, Ind., and John Schoenstein. She grew up in Madison, Ind., and graduated from Indiana University where she received a degree in government with a minor in economics. She was a member and former president of Chi Omega Sorority.

Wolf moved to Bethel in 1976 and was active in the community. She was a charter member of the Stony Hill Exchange Club, and held many club offices as a member of the Bethel Chamber of Commerce including the Small Business Development Committee. Before becoming editor of The Redding Pilot in 1995, she was a part-time reporter and then editor of the now defunct Bethel Home News from 1976 until the fall of 1995. She received the 1987 New England Press Association Editorial Page Award, the 1989 Feature Writing Award, and was the 1989 recipient of the Business and Professional Women’s Media Award. She was a member of the Bethel American Legion Axillary and the Hudson Valley Subvette-ettes.

Wolf is survived by David Rosenbluh of Bethel; daughter, Stephanie Wolf Phillips (Chris Phillips); son, Brian Wolf and his girlfriend, Trish Muccigrosso of New Milford; two grandchildren; mother, Lillian McCoskey of Madison, Ind.; sister, Sharon Schoenstein of Port Orange, Fla.; a nephew. David’s children, Diane Cotter (Bob); David Rosenbluh, and Robert Rosenbluh, Jeannie Brighindi, and their son, Bob Rosenbluh; and two step grandchildren. She was predeceased by her father, John; and nephew, John Clapham.

There are no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 2 at the First Church of Christ Congregational Church, 25 Cross Highway in Redding.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
