WESTPORT, Conn. - Robert Wachsler, a 48-year resident of Westport, died May 25. He was 79.
Wachsler was born in 1934, in the Bronx, N.Y., he was educated at City College of New York and earned a Ph.D. in aviation psychology from Ohio State University. He had a distinguished career at General Motors, BBD&O and was a marketing consultant to CEOs of many of the world’s largest corporations.
Wachsler was an adjunct professor at the NYU Stern School of Business and Columbia University Business School. He served on a number of boards, among them, Goodspeed Opera House, Westport Public Library, Jewish Home for the Elderly and Medici Archive Project. He was a member of the Y’s Men of Westport Weston.
Wachsler is survived by his wife, Jane; daughters, Anne (Paul) Niedergang of Portland, Ore.; Elizabeth Wachsler, of Black Rock, Susan Wachsler, of New York City; and two grandchildren.
