Driscoll was born Oct. 20, 1931, in Westport, to Daniel and Helen (Boland) Driscoll, he was a lifelong Westport resident. A graduate of Staples H.S.- Class of 1949, he attended Clark University and was a partner with Driscoll & Sweeney and an associate at Ring’s End Lumber. He served in the Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean War as a second lieutenant. He was a lifetime member of the Coleytown Volunteer Fire Dept., an usher at Assumption Church, a football coach for P.A.L. and was honored by the Sportsmen Association of Westport.
Driscoll is survived by his wife, Ann; children, Dennis Driscoll and his companion, Debbie Dutcher, Maureen O’Driscoll, Sheila Freitag (Donald) and Ellen Sigmund (Todd); six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Daniel Driscoll and Edward “Ned” Driscoll; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Ruth Warner.
Calling hours are from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22 at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23 at Assumption Church, 98 Riverside Ave., Westport. Burial with military honors will follow at Assumption Cemetery, Greens Farms.
