He stepped down from the Board of Selectmen in 2007. During his time on the board, he was a school advocate who also supported expansion projects. He also supported senior citizen causes, including tax-abatement and tax-deferral programs. He served on the Weston Warm Up Fund, which helps residents pay heating bills, as well as the Kiwanis Club and the Commission on Aging, according to The Weston Forum.

Miller was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and graduated from Erasmus Hall High School, New York University, and the New York University School of Business. He attended Officer’s Candidate School in Newport, R.I., and was commissioned as an ensign. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1953 to 1956

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lois; son, Evan Miller (Nancy); daughter, Jill Miller Goldberg (Richard); and four grandchildren.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Zena & Michael A. Weiner Cardiovascular Institute, or the Robert & John Bendheim Parkinson’s and Movement Disorder Center, both at Mount Sinai Medical Center.
