WESTPORT, Conn. Patrick D. Lucci of Westport died Thursday, Sept. 13, at his home. He was 99.
He was born April 17, 1913, in Jelsi, Italy, to Salvatore and Caterina Santella Iapalucci. He immigrated to Westport in 1930 at the age of 17. He was a resident of Westport for the past 82 years.
He graduated from Staples High School in 1934 and from the New York School of Design. He was married to Marguerite Nappa Lucci, who predeceased him. He worked as a graphic artist for nearly 60 years at his New York City-based studio.
His clients included Seventeen Magazine, the New York City Blood Program and his largest, the Socony Mobil Co. He produced Compass Magazine for 56 years, serving as art director for 38 of those years.
Lucci was a longtime member of the Longshore Golf Club. After retiring, he worked at the club in the mornings, getting golf carts ready for the day.
He is survived by a son, Sal D. (Martha) Lucci, of Westport; three brothers, Louis Lucci, of Norwalk, John Luce, of Jupiter, Fla., and Dominick Lucci, of Sarasota, Fla.; and a granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. Lucci was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Lucci.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Church of the Assumption in Westport. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.
