Patricia Hardy, 50, Westport Management Consultant

WESTPORT, Conn. – Patricia Lynne Hardy (Bozzella) of Westport died Oct. 6 at home after a battle with glioblastoma. She was 50. 

Born in Albany, N.Y., Hardy was raised in West Sand Lake, N.Y. She lived in New York City; Albany, N.Y.; McLean, Va.; Grosse Pointe, Mich.; and New Canaan for several years before recently moving to Westport. 

Known as Patti, she graduated from Emma Willard Preparatory School in 1980 and Cornell University in 1984. She received an MBA from Stern School of Business at New York University in 1989. 

A former management consultant, Hardy worked for Chemical Bank and BEA Associates before joining Deloitte. She established a nonprofit organization, PattiStrong Foundation, which supports women's entrepreneurial initiatives throughout the world. 

Hardy also volunteered for several organizations, including Hospice Care in Grosse Pointe, Red Cross in Detroit and the Multiple Sclerosis Society. She was also a jewelry designer and watercolorist, displaying many of her works at the Silvermine Art Center. 

She participated in triathlons, was an avid downhill skier and held a black belt in Shodokan karate. She also enjoyed playing tennis and golf. 

Hardy is survived by her husband of 21 years, John T. Bozzella; two sons, John Hardy Bozzella and Paul Joseph Bozzella; her parents, Molly Hardy, and her husband, the Rev. William Romer, of Acton, Mass., and Jack (Diane) Hardy, of Albany; three sisters, Laura Sitrin, of Newport, R.I., Suzanne Berger, of Deerfield, Mass., and Jenna Hardy, of Boston; her parents-in-law, John and Cathleen Bozzella, of East Northport, N.Y.; a sister-in-law, Laura (Timothy) Sheehan, of Westmont, N.J.; two brothers-in-law, Thomas Bozzella, of Westport, and Joseph (Kim) Bozzella, of New Canaan; and many nieces, nephews and friends. 

Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lesko and Polke Funeral Home in Fairfield Center. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke's Church in Westport. Burial will be private.
