Otto O. Weibel, Longtime Westport Resident, 91

WESTPORT, Conn. -- Otto O. Weibel of Westport, died on Monday, June 1, at Norwalk Hospital. He was 91.

Weibel was born in Dietikon, Switzerland on Aug. 20, 1923 and was the son of Robert and Sophie Weibel. He was a resident of Westport for the past 49 years.

He was a volunteer for The American Cancer Society’s “Road To Recovery Program,” and a member of The Westport Wise Men. When he first came to the United States in 1947, he became a lifetime member of the NYC Mannerchor and Swiss-American Club.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Paulette; a son, Robert Weibel and his wife, Silvia of Switzerland; one daughter, Joyce Bottone and her husband, Joseph, of Westport; one brother, Robert Weibel of Switzerland; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Weibel was predeceased by a son, Peter O. Weibel and two sisters, Emmi Scheurer and Klarli Wydler.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road East in Westport 

A graveside service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Willowbrook Cemetery, 395 Main St., Westport.
