WESTPORT, Conn - Norman W. Blomfield of Westport died Tuesday, June 4. He was 97.
Blomfield was born July 19, 1915, in Montpelier, Vt., son of Rev. Stanley F. Blomfield and Bernice Haskin Blomfield. He attended the Munson Academy, class of 1933, and later served as a school trustee. His education continued at Yale University where he graduated class of 1937. He worked as a systems analyst for the former Burroughs Corporation (Unisys) until his retirement and then as a private consultant. He volunteered for the Peace Corps (RSVP) serving for some time in Venezuela.
Blomfield is survived by his son, Bruce Blomfield (Betsy) of Westport; a grandchild; two great-grandchildren; step-grandsons, Lyman Reed Jr and Adam Reed; several nieces and nephews; and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Evelyn Mary Raitt Blomfield; brothers, Nelson, C. Stanley and Walter Blomfield; and sisters, Charlotte Auger and Frances Haines.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 10 at Green's Farms Church, 71 Hilandale Road, Westport.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Greens Farms Church or Merton House, 43 Madison Ave., Bridgeport.
