WESTPORT, Conn. -- Neil G. Farans, of Westport, died on Wednesday, Feb. 17. He was 77.
Farans attended Norwalk High School, and graduated from the University of Florida, before joining the Air Force Reserve.
He then returned home to join the family business, Pennsylvania Petroleum Company (Pepco), for nearly 30 years, before founding Eastern Environmental Technologies, a waste management disposal company. He was a past president of the Norwalk Exchange Club, and an active member within the community.
He is survived by his wife, Laura, and his son Brad and his wife, Michele of Vail, Colo., and his brother Alvin Farans of Westport.
He was predeceased by his son Greg, his brother Paul and his sister Diane.
Services will be held at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., Norwalk on Monday, Feb. 22, at 2 p.m. Burial will follow IHS/Temple Shalom Cemetery, 143 Richards Ave., Norwalk.
