Barrett was born on Feb. 28, 1933, in New York to May Damiano and Max Kowalsky, growing up in the Bronx and graduating from William Taft High School.
She worked as a secretary in New York in the advertising business, and for Trendex, Norwalk Hospital, the Mid-Fairfield Child Guidance Center, and as a lunch lady and recess supervisor at Hillspoint Elementary School.
Barrett was predeceased by her brother Leonard and daughter-in-law Anna.
She is survived by her husband Anthony; son Craig, daughter-in-law Jeanie and their children Courtney and Alexandra and great grandson Liam; and her son Tod and his children Tyler and Hannah.
No public calling hours or services are planned, by her request.
