Mary A. MacDonald, 90, Longtime Westport Resident

WESTPORT, Conn. - Mary Agnes (Kirby) MacDonald of Westport died Tuesday, April 8. She was 90.

MacDonald was born June 16, 1923, in Dorchester, Mass., she was the daughter of Walter and Bridget (Henson) Kirby. She obtained her Juris Doctor (J.D.) law degree from the Portia Law School during World War II. She was a longtime Westport resident and former member of the Patterson Club, the Westport Woman's Club. She was a member at St. Luke Church in Westport for nearly 45 years.

MacDonald is survived by her sons, John Jr.(Mary) of North Falmouth, Mass., Brian (Carol) of Southport, Michael (Allison) of Glen Ridge, N.J. and Steve (Becky) of Lima, Ohio; daughters, Susan (Tom) Spiro of Fairfield, Joanne (Tom) Kennedy of Oswego, Ill, Mary Ann Brandell (Bill) of St. Charles, Ill., Tish (Joe) Tacopina of Westport and Katy MacDonald of Fairfield; 31 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren; sister, Margaret (Peg) Weiler of Wayland, Mass.; brother, Gerald Kirby of Quincy, Mass. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, John E. MacDonald; brothers, Walter and Joseph Kirby; and sister, Rita Thornton.

Calling hours are Sunday, April 13 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road in Fairfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, April 14 at 11 a.m. directly at St. Luke Church in Westport. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield.
