Bertasi was born in Bridgeport, to Walter and Catherine Allen, she graduated from Central High School and studied nursing at St. Vincent's. She held local leadership and board positions at organizations including Make-A-Wish Foundation, Park City Hospital, numerous PTAs, mothers groups, and other charitable organizations. She and her husband, Ron were members over the years at Sun Haven Beach Club, Black Rock Yacht Club, and remain members at the Patterson Club and Saugatuck Harbor Yacht Club.
Bertasi is survived by her husband, Ron; children, Kelly Bertasi Cason, Richard Bertasi, Ronald Bertasi II, Jamie Bertasi Zerber, and Courtney Bertasi Bridger; 16 grandchildren; and brother, Thomas Allen. She was predeceased by her parents; and sister, Betty Allen McGrath.
Calling hours are Monday, April 7 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 8 by close family friend, Fr. Charles Allen, S.J. in St. Luke Church, 49 Turkey Hill Lane, Westport. Interment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery.
