WESTPORT, Conn. - Margaret “Peg” E. Fowler of Westport died July 19. She was 73.
Fowler was born Oct. 20, 1939, in Berea, Ohio, daughter of Jenevieve and Bruce Fowler. She attended Pierce College and UCLA where she pursued her interest in anthropology, philosophy and psychology. She became involved with KPFK Public Radio where she filled many roles; on-air fundraising; and hosting her own talk show. Fowler started a monthly periodical, “Free 2 Wheel,” which focused on motorcycling in Southern California. Upon moving to Westport in 2010, she served the Westport community at large. She was a volunteer to the Community Theatre and The Westport Country Playhouse and was a member of the Senior Center, the Westport Public Library, and the Westport – Weston Family Y. She also volunteered annually at Westport’s First Night celebration.
Fowler is survived by her brother, Bruce Fowler (Lee) of Bishop, Calif. A memorial service celebrating Fowler’s life will take place Wednesday, July 31, at 1 p.m. at Christ & Holy Trinity Church, 75 Church Lane.
