WESTPORT, Conn. Lynn Rosenfeld, a longtime Westport resident and special education teacher, died Aug. 3. She was 77.
Born Dec. 13, 1934, in Grand Junction, Colo., Rosenfeld was raised on a fruit ranch. Her family later moved to Layton, Utah, where she graduated from high school and the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
She married Kurt Rosenfeld in 1957, after being introduced by a sorority sister. The couple moved to Westport in 1962, where they raised their children. She spent many hours at Compo Beach, playing tennis at Longshore and taking care of her garden.
Rosenfeld earned a master's degree in education from Fairfield University. She enjoyed a long career as a special education teacher at Westport schools.
She is survived by her husband; a son Stuart (Lynn), of Seattle, Wash.; a daughter, Lisbet (Russ), of Penticton, British Columbia; a brother, Stuart Smith, of Richmond, Utah; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service for family members will be held in Seattle at a later date.
