WESTPORT, Conn. - Lori Jasperse Redmer of Westport died Saturday, Aug. 17. She was 46.
Redmer was born in Dearborn, Mich., to Lois and Paul Jasperse. She graduated from Dearborn Christian School and Dearborn High School. She went on to earn a BBA from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y. She worked for Xerox and Conde Nast. She also held leadership roles at non-profit organizations including Save the Children, where she was associate vice president of Global Corporate Partnerships. Most recently she served as the executive director of the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation.
Redmer pursued an advanced degree in theology at Hartford Seminary, and was recently selected to attend the upcoming 10th Assembly of the World Council of Churches in the Republic of Korea.
Redmer is survived by her husband, Alan; children, Brooke, Claire and Sloane; brother, Carl Jasperse, of Grand Ledge, Mich.; Judi Jasperse of Grand Rapids Mich.; sisters, Linda Jasperse of Bennington, Vt., and Carol (Bob) Lautenbach of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and parents-in-law, Rudy and Carol Redmer of Poinciana, Fla.; and nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Wednesday, Aug. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Congregational Church of Green's Farms. A celebration of Lori's life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22 at the Church Parlor.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Green's Farms Church outreach, the Adirondack Mountain Club, or the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation.
